Home Cells – By Carolina Sardi
Mathematical precision permeates the presence of “Home Cells,” the symmetrical, danger-sign orange hexagons perfectly arranged as if under the lens of a microscope. Nevertheless, there is something comforting about these seemingly cold cells. Perhaps it is that they resemble the shape of a honeycomb, the place where bees make their homes, or strands of molecular tissue that make up the building blocks of life itself. Whatever the reason, Sardi’s work plays with strict form to draw parallels between futuristic technology and a sense of place that is altogether familiar.
