As an artist and as a woman, I react to what is around me. Nature, art, architecture, music, history and current events motivate me to create my metal sculptures. I transform rigid raw materials by manipulation of simple geometric shapes, patterning curves, angles and lines that interact with the space surrounding them. Like a choreographer, I connect these parts into a fluid whole that exhibits movement, energy, symmetry and balance. I invite each viewer to explore my spaces from many perspectives and to connect their experiences of the world with my own.
Each sculpture is a unique piece individually constructed. Those that are miniature in scale are sculptures as well as maquettes for larger sculptures. Themes of creation, nature and biblical stories, as well as heroism, humor and the holocaust are recurrent in my artworks.
