Conversation – By Susan Clinard
Each individual figure in Susan Clinard’s “Conversation” seems to stand alone, individually engaged in a series of interior dialogues. Despite the isolation of the figures, the meticulously carved wooden forms seem to communicate themselves, conversing through their spatial arrangement and unique structures. This work creates tension between interior and exterior, spoken thoughts and that which is left unspoken but nevertheless communicates volumes.
