Segment - By J. Mac

A layer of twine enshrouds this "Segment" of the human form, highlighting the arching curves and muscles of the back. While the rope emphasizes the "Segment" it surrounds, it also serves to further disassociate the viewer from a formal understanding of the human body, removing the section from its original context and objectifying it, thus calling into question the distinction between organic form and art object.
